Current Projects

CNDM (2011-2013)

The project CNDM (Calibrating Nonlinear Dynamical Models) will develop and analyze new powerful methods for estimating nonlinear dynamical models (nonlinear system identification). Some representative publications illustrating the theory and the type of algorithms under development are J10, C44 and C43.

CUAS (2011-2016)

CUAS (Collaborative Unmanned Aircraft Systems) is funded by SSF the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF).

This project will study and advance the theory and practice of using a collection of collaborating heterogeneous unmanned aircraft systems. Applications involve both emergency services and security applications.

CADICS (2008-2018)

CADICS (Control, Autonomy, and Decision-making in Complex Systems) is a Linneaus Center funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR).

The goal is to develop new theory and methods for handling important problems in general decision making. An important aspect is to be able to use and assemble information from several sources to draw correct conclusions from this information.

ETT (2011-2014)

The project ETT (Extended Target Tracking) aims at investigating new target tracking algorithms, especially focusing on visual sensors.

The project is funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR).

ELLIIT (2010-2014)

ELLIIT (Excellence Center at Linköping-Lund in Information Technology) Funded within the Department of Education's increased support for Strategic Research Areas.

ELLIIT is a network organization for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) research at Linköping, Lund, Halmstad and Blekinge, which has been created to support and enhance an internationally acknowledged research environment in these areas.

MC Impulse (2011-2014)

The MC Impulse project is an Initial Training Network, focussing on research and training in the field of sensor data processing.

Previous Projects

MOVIII (2006-2010)

MOVIII (Modelling, Visualization and Information Integration) is a Strategic Research Center, funded by SSF, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.

The aim here is to develop efficient algorithms for solving the Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) problem for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This is one of the enabling technologies for any autonomous platform (e.g. helicopter, car, aircraft) to function.

SEFS (2005-2009)

SEFS (Sensor Fusion for Safety Systems) is a research project funded by IVSS, Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems.

Within the automotive industry there is currently a huge interest in active safety systems. All active safety functions needs information about the state of the host vehicle and its surroundings, such as lane geometry and the position of other vehicles. The aim of this project is to develop a general sensor fusion system utilizing information from all the available sensors.

MATRIS (2004-2007)

MATRIS (Markerless real-time Tracking for Augmented Reality Image) is a sixth framework programme funded by the European Union.

The aim of this project is to estimate the position and orientation of a video camera. This information will then be used in an Augmented Reality (AR) setting, where computer generated objects are inserted in real-time to the video stream captured by the camera. The systems makes use of inertial sensors (3 accelerometers and 3 gyroscopes) and computer vision via feature extraction. We were responsible for the sensor fusion part of the project.
