Biography

Christian is currently a PhD student at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Linköping University. During August 2016 through June 2017 he visited Prof. David M. Blei's research lab at Columbia University in the City of New York as a Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher. He spent time in October 2015 as a visiting student researcher in Dr. Frank Wood's lab at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. He received his MSc in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering - international with specialization in Control and Information Systems, from Linköping University in 2013. In 2012, he received his BSc degree in Mathematics, also from Linköping University. During his undergraduate studies he spent the third year at Beijing Institute of Technology as an exchange student. Furthermore, Christian has also studied three semesters of Chinese language at Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Christian's main research interests are machine learning, computational statistics and system identification. The focus is developing new algorithms, theory and practical tools for challenging problems within data science.
