Manon Kok
Background
Manon Kok was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1982. From August 2011 until the beginning of 2017, she has been a Ph.D. student at the Division of Automatic Control at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Linköping University. Her supervisor was Prof. Thomas Schön and her co-supervisors were Prof. Fredrik Gustafsson and Dr. Jeroen Hol.
In January 2017 she successfully defended her PhD thesis and in June 2014 she succesfully defended her Licentiate thesis. From January until March 2015 she did a pre-doc at the Bayesian Methodology Group at Aalto University, Finland, cooperating with Dr. Simo Särkkä and Dr. Arno Solin.
Before starting as a PhD student, Manon received her M.Sc. in Applied Physics in Januari 2009 and her M.Sc. in Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society in June 2007 from the University of Twente and has been working as a research engineer at Xsens Technologies from Februari 2009 until July 2011.
Research
Manon's current research interest is in probabilistic modeling for position and orientation estimation using inertial sensors. For further information regarding Manon's research, see the research page.
