About me

I was born in 1966 in Eskilstuna, Sweden, and grew up in Kungsör nearby. Finished high school 1985 and then went to Linköping to study applied physics and electrical engineering (Y). Made my Master thesis in 1989 at ICP in Grenoble, France, where I also stayed in 1990 and worked as a research engineer. Went back to Linköping and started PhD studies in 1991 under L. Wanhammar at ISY. Met my wife-to-be in 1993. Received my PhD in 1997 on how to design really fast digital filters using serial processing. Got a temporary teacher position at my home university after this and then became happily married. We had our first child in 1998, and continued to have three more lovely kids after this. My position became permanent in the same year, and I obtained a professor's position in electronic systems in 2002. Since then I have educated many undergraduate and PhD students in electronics. Starting in 2009 I stayed almost a year at BWRC in Berkeley, California, as a visiting scholar with B. Nicolić, which was very fun. Currently I do mainly teach, but try to get some research done every now and then.

My interests

Professionally I am currently focused on finding out how to implement traditional analog electronics with digital circuits. I am not so much of a common researcher as an inventor in the field of electronics. I will present a few inventions here when I find the time. Meanwhile, if you are interested you can check out some of my creations from the databases below:

Off work I and my family like to sail, ski, and travel.

For students

I usually have many ideas that are great for a Bachelor or Master thesis project. Please contact me if you are a student and would like to do some electronics research for a thesis. Hopefully we can find some common ground for a project that will suit both your and my interests.
