Jonas Linder

Jonas is presently a postdoc at the Division of Automatic Control at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Linköping University.

He successfully defended his PhD's thesis Indirect System Identification for Unknown Input Problems: With Applications to Ships in March 2017.

He did his master's thesis, Interactive Multiobjective Optimization with Application to Hot Rolling Mills at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås and it was awarded Bo Rydin Foundation's grant for best master thesis in 2011. He received a Master of Science degree in Systems, Control and Mechatronics from Chalmers University of Technology in 2011.

During the summer and fall of 2011 he worked at ABB Corporate Research with three research projects: "mine of the future", "industrial demand response", and "multi-objective optimization". The mining project included modeling, control and optimization of mining operation. It focused on developing a framework for material- and property tracking. The project in smart grids outlined the possibility for load shifting in industrial environment to meet demands in the electric grid. The multi-objective optimization project contained further development of the tool and broadened the knowledge of the applications described in the master thesis.

Jonas's research is focused on system identification and sensor fusion in marine applications and is funded by the Vinnova Industry Excellence Center LINK-SIC. Jonas is at the moment researching the problem of estimating variables/parameters, such as mass, from ship motion data.
