BINTPROG is part of the commercial Optimization Toolbox from MATLAB 7 and later.
BINTPROG is invoked with sdpsettings('solver','bintprog').
YALMIP internally converts integer linear programs to binary problems (assuming the integer variables are explicitly bounded)
BINTPROG does not perform well on anything but very small problems. Another drawback is that the solver lacks support for continuous variables.
An alternative (free) mixed integer linear programming solver is highly recommended. Suitable replacements are GLPK and LPSOLVE. Even YALMIPs BNB runs much faster on many problems, which clearly indicates the poor performance of the solver. If you are in academia, you are encouraged to install a free academic license of GUROBI, CPLEX, XPRESS or MOSEK.
