Here follows a list of freeware and shareware programs that I use or
intend to try to use on my PC computers. This page will be

FTP Explorer - FTP client that integrates
well with Explorer.
PowerArchiver 2001 - The Ultimate
Freeware Archive Utility for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000.

- MikTeX - A recognized
LaTeX package. I currently use this package 2003-04-09.
- Synchron X - Small program that synchronizes files and directories.
- Directory Compare - Bigger program that synchronizes files and directories.
- TextCalc - Simple texteditor with a built in calculator.
- Xcalc32 - Free RPN desktop
- Mahogany -
Email client that supports IMAP and POP3. I currently use this
email client and I am impressed by its speed.
Secure shells and terminal programs
PSCP Free Win32 Telnet/SSH Client and secure copy.
is freeware SCP (Secure CoPy) client for Windows 95/98/2000/NT.
(Pro) is a free software terminal emulator for Windows

Unix tools that are ported to the Windows platform
- cygwin - Many GNU tools compiled for Windows.

A simple but excellent vector editing program. There is an old

Postscript and pdf viewer for the Windows platform, uses ghostscript below.

spell checking package. There are also a set of dictionary files available,
Aspell - Maybee the
successor of ispell. There are binaries for win32 platform.

I was looking for a good mail client but havent found any good
ones... I use Mahogany but it does not support several connections
to different SMTP servers.
i.Scribe does not have SSL.
NetMail did not have IMAP.
