Marek Syldatk

Background

Marek Syldatk was born in Koszalin, Poland in 1985. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Division of Automatic Control at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Linköping University.

On 18th of September Marek defended his Licentiate of Engineering thesis, titled "On Calibration of Ground Sensor Networks" (available here)

Previously Marek received his MSc Eng in Automatic Control and Robotics from the Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdansk, Poland in 2009 under the supervision of prof. Zdzislaw Kowalczuk. He graduated with highest honours, golden badge distinction award for the best graduating students.

From June 2010 until May 2012 Marek worked as a researcher at Saab AB in Järfälla, Sweden. In parallel he started his Ph.D. studies in September 2010. Marek became an employee of Linköping University in June 2012.

Both positions at Saab AB and Linköping University were a part of MC IMPULSE project founded within EU Framework Programme 7.

Research

His research is focused within the area of ground sensor networks - data fusion from multiple sensors, algorithms and techniques for localisation, calibration and alignment of ground sensors. Recently his interest is mainly in application of Bayesian method to sparse parameter estimation as well as Monte Carlo methods.

More information, including recent publications, can be found on current research page.
