Johan Sjöberg

Background

Johan Sjöberg was born in 1978. He received the M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics and Electrical engineering 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control, 2008, both from Linköping University. He is currently working as scientist at ABB Corporate Research and as assistant professor at the Division of Automatic Control, Department of Electrial Engineering, Linköping University.

Research

Johan Sjöberg's research focus is presently control theory applied to industrial processes, such as hot rolling mills, high speed machines, power systems, marine crafts, etc. However, earlier the focus was optimal control of DAE models, which also was the topic of the PhD thesis. A DAE model is a model that may consist of both differential and algebraic equations. This type of models occur frequently when object-oriented tools like Modelica are used to model a process. More information can be found in my PhD Thesis.

Johan Sjöberg is involved in the Vinnova Industry Excellence Center LINK-SIC, where he is working in the the aerial vehicles and marine vessels research projects, and within the strategic research area network MODRIO.
